Course - Locationbased Scheduling

Schedule Planner, cyclogram planning, area-based planning, location-based management - loved ones has many names. Below, you can see the content of our courses and when they will be held next.

You can read numerous examples of why your peers in the industry use location-based scheduling here.

Course Content

Level 1 - New Users

Training in Location-Based Scheduling

6–7 participants – 1 day

The method provides visibility of a range of risks that cannot be seen with a bar chart (Gantt).

  • Are there areas on the construction site with conflicting activities?
  • Are there areas on the construction site that are left empty?
  • Is there a consistent staffing level and smooth workflow on the site?

Once you have an overview of where the challenges lie, it becomes easy to optimize your schedule. You can easily save 10% of the execution time after identifying the “gaps” in your timeline.

The training is a combination of instructor-led presentations and hands-on exercises. Among other things, you will learn:

  • Application of location-based scheduling in construction projects
  • Setting up new projects in Tactplan Schedule
  • Setting up a schedule with locations
  • Introduction to quantity- and resource-driven schedules
  • Including analysis of resource consumption in schedules
  • Progress management in construction projects (intro)

Level 2 - Advanced Users

Training in Location-Based Scheduling

6–7 participants – 1 day

The method allows for continuous adjustment of the schedule, enabling quick handling of changes in production while maintaining overall oversight.

  • Is the work proceeding in the planned sequence?
  • Is there a risk of delays or bottlenecks?
  • Is the staffing distributed optimally across the locations?

Once you have completed a risk analysis of the factors that may affect the construction process, you can quickly address any shortcomings – and in many cases further optimize your schedule.

The training is a combination of instructor-led presentations and hands-on exercises. Among other things, you will learn:

  • Schedule follow-up – production management
  • Schedule optimization with staffing
  • Analysis of risks, resource usage, and cash flow in schedules
  • Progress management in construction projects and illustrating/visualizing it for the client

Introduction to:

  • Quantity- and resource-driven schedules
  • Import of quantity take-offs into Tactplan
  • Integration with project financial management

Project-Specific Consultation

Training in Location-Based Scheduling - exactly where you are

1-2 participants

The method provides insight into how your specific project can get started with – and benefit from – location-based scheduling.

The course is structured as follows:

  1. Schedule setup – from Gantt to cycle diagram (held at your location) – 4 hours
  2. Follow-up project consultation (held at your location or online) – 2 hours per week for 4 weeks

We recommend that the first training day be held at your location. After that, the training can continue online – typically 2 hours per week for 4 weeks.

Based on the content from both Level 1 and Level 2, you can also choose a more practical approach, where we work directly with an ongoing project. We recommend starting the training at the same time as the project kickoff, so the method and software are implemented from day one.

Whether you have an existing Gantt schedule that needs to be converted to a cycle diagram, are starting completely from scratch, or already know the method and want to learn how to work with progress tracking and forecasts – we start from your situation and build on it.
